OFU (Online Firmware Update) notes for NSW1U/TIGW1U

This JSUP package contains configuration files (flashupdt_da.cfg and flashupdt.cfg) that are for use under a boot to the Intel Deployment Assistant CD and OFU respectively.

Below are the steps to follow for use of this SUP with OFU on the running Operating System:

1. Install the OFU feature on your Operating system:

	A. For Windows 2003: Insert the NSW1U/TIGW1U Intel Deployment
Assistant CD. The CD should autorun. From the main menu,
select "Drivers and Utilities" and then "Microsoft Windows
Drivers". Select the "From CD" link by "OFU and IPMI Driver
Installer" and follow the install instructions.

	B. For Linux (Redhat and SuSE) with an X-Windows GUI, install
the Firefox (or Mozilla) browser and execute the autorun script
in the root directory of the CD (like: /media/cdrom/autorun).
From the main menu, select "Drivers and Utilities" and then
"Red Hat Linux Utilities/Drivers RPMs" or "SuSE Linux
Utilities/Drivers RPMs". Select the "Install Now" link by
"OFU (Online Firmware Update) " and follow the install
           instructions.

	C. For Linux (Redhat and SuSE) without a GUI or browser, execute the
linux_menu script in the root directory of the CD (like:
/media/cdrom/linux_menu). Select the menu item: "Install only
the OFU feature" and follow the install instructions.

2. Unzip the JSUP package to a directory/folder (we will use /tmp for this
example). Edit the flashupdt.cfg and remove the entire line that starts
with "HSCNAME". An update of the HSC can not be performed while a hard
disk is in use. A boot to the Intel Deployment Assistant CD must be used
   to update the HSC.

3. Start the OFU update:

	A. For Windows 2003: Open a Command prompt and change directory (cd)
           to "\Program Files\Intel\flashupdt". Execute: flashupdt -u \tmp

	B. For Linux (Redhat/SuSE): Open a shell prompt and change directory
           (cd) to /usr/local/flashupdt. Execute: ./flashupdt -u /tmp

4. Reboot the system for the firmware changes to take affect.
